The rules
Three scenarios, three clear answers.
Inject as soon as you remember. Resume your regular schedule the following week. For example, if you inject on Tuesday and remember on Friday (3 days), inject Friday and go back to Tuesday next week.
Wait for your next regular day. Taking a late dose too close to your next one risks overlapping drug levels, which can worsen GI side effects.
You may need to drop back one or two dose levels and re-titrate. Jumping back to 10mg or 15mg after a break is a common cause of severe nausea.
Decision flow
Step through this to figure out what to do right now.
The cutoff is 96 hours (4 days). This is shorter than semaglutide's 5-day window.
Take the missed dose immediately. Resume your regular schedule the following week.
Do not inject. Wait for your next regular day. Do not try to compensate by injecting sooner.
Re-titration may be needed to avoid severe side effects when restarting.
